Part-Time or Full-Time Legal Assistant

Harris Legal, PLLC in Winston-Salem, North Carolina is hiring a Legal Assistant to join its growing team part-time or full-time. The position is primarily work from home, with occasional local errands and meetings.

No experience is required. However, the candidate must be friendly, tech-saavy, and able to learn and work on a variety of tasks with minimal supervision.

Position Overview

We are seeking a part-time Legal Assistant who will provide support to the managing attorney in various administrative, legal, and business development tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to join a small business with the potential for growth as the firm expands. The role is primarily remote, but the candidate must reside in or near Winston-Salem, NC, as some in-person tasks (e.g., running to the post office, filing, or other errands) will be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the managing attorney with scheduling, client communications, and case management.
• Perform document preparation and filing under supervision.
• Manage emails, calls, and other correspondence in a professional manner.
• Request, and follow-up on, the status of medical record requests.
• Manage third-party service providers
• Support day-to-day administrative tasks, such as data entry, file organization, and invoice management.

Qualifications

• No prior legal experience required – we are looking for a smart, tech-savvy individual eager to learn and grow.
• Ability to quickly adapt and take direction well.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Comfortable with technology and willing to learn and adapt to new systems as the firm develops, familiarity with AI tools is a plus.
• Any skills which might help in our marketing efforts would be a plus
• A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license for local errands.
• Able to pass a comprehensive background check

Compensation

• Starting at $20–$30 per hour.
• Open to candidates seeking either full-time or part-time work.
• Presently no benefits, but it is our expectation that benefits and compensation will both scale as the firm grows.
